No matter what your opinion, pod coffee systems are a great way to enjoy (and keep!) coffee. The pod coffee system has a place in today’s morning beverage market. If you have this type of coffee maker, then you are well aware of how important it is to ensure that your system brews every morning, or all day, depending upon your coffee habits. Can you imagine what it would look like if the coffee maker worked perfectly for your husband, but then stopped brewing when your attempt to make your own cup. What a horrifying thought!
It can happen. Machines that get a lot daily can build up clogs, which can lead to system failure. This quick cleaning guide will help you keep your machine running smoothly.

This is the best method to keep your coffee hot.

You can follow our tutorial to clean your Keurig in vinegar. But if you want to ensure that the clogs are gone, we recommend using a descaling agent. This is the only Keurig cleaning solution that’s approved for use with its brewers.

How to Clean a Keurig Coffee Maker

What you need

Ingredients

Equipment

  • Dry, clean cloth

Instructions

      1. Unplug the machine This is an important, but simple step.
      2. Disassemble the parts and wash them: Remove and clean the water reservoir, lid, and mug stand. Also, remove the K-cup cup holder. These items should be washed in warm soapy hot water. Dry them.
      3. Wipe machine surfaces: With a clean, dry cloth (or a damp towel if required), wipe the machine’s surface. Keep an eye out for coffee and tea granules in the area surrounding the coffee pod holder. Turn off all removable parts, and then plug it in.
      4. Grab the vinegar. This will help to descale (remove calcium and scale buildup from) your coffeemaker. (You can also use a descaling solution.) Water reservoir half full with vinegar.
      5. Add water. Fill the reservoir to the top with water.
      6. Use the machine to start the brew cycle. Repeat this until the machine is empty. This process will help eliminate limescale and scale buildup. Keurig suggests descaling your kettle at least once every 3 to 6 mois depending on how much water you use.
      7. Re-rinse the reservoir with water: Repeat the process with only plain water to eliminate any vinegar taste.
      8. Use as normal. Then, when you are ready, you will be able to brew a cup like usual.

Here are some reviews from people that use our guidance
” The EZCup 2.0 refillable pod system can be a solution if you are feeling guilty about buying the pods. You can grind your own coffee. There are also very effective paper filters that make it easy to clean. You can’t mix wet grounds with other refillable coffee systems. ”
” The Keurig machine is not capable of making a good cup of coffee. This is because the water temperature is too low for the coffee to extract its flavors. It may not be worth it if you already have k cups that have been sitting on a supermarket shelf over six months. They are convenient. But if you want to get caffeine as quickly and easily as possible, it is best to go with the soluble option… ”
” My early-riser wife could simply turn on the coffee pot, so I used to grind my own coffee. The coffee in my thermal pot was not very good when I woke up. I then tossed the remainder. Enter Keurig. It was a great timing for my spouse’s decision not to consume as much caffeine. He gets his K-cups decaf and I get my high octane. I also get my delicious flavored coffees and teas. My Keurig died shortly after its warranty expired. I called the company to see if they could repair it. They said that they would send me a new Keurig 2.0 and some K-cups. It turned out that five boxes were included, as well as the sample coffees that came with the machine. That’s what I love about a company! ”
